WHO CAN APPLY?

Owners of a building listed on the Heritage Register* of the City of Vancouver are eligible to apply for one or more of the Foundation’s granting programs designed to assist homeowners in planning and executing the maintenance, repair, restoration and rehabilitation of their heritage building. (A building is listed on the Heritage Register because it is identified by the City of Vancouver as having heritage value and/or heritage character and is at least 20 years old).
*If your building is not listed, the Vancouver Heritage Foundation now offers a new grant, “Get on the Register“, to assist building owners with the City’s nomination process through which buildings may be added to the Heritage Register. If your building is not listed on the Heritage Register, you must successfully apply for the “Get on the Register” granting program before or in conjunction with applying for any other program.

WHAT IS THE VANCOUVER HERITAGE REGISTER?

"The Vancouver Heritage Register is the cornerstone of the city of Vancouver heritage program. Adopted in 1986 (then known as the Heritage Inventory), it is a policy and guideline document, managed by the City of Vancouver, which includes more than 2,200 buildings, landscapes, monuments and archaeological sites. To be included on the Register, sites must be identified as having heritage value and/or heritage character and be at least 20 years old. The Register is a planning tool which provides a valuable record of Vancouver's heritage." from the City of Vancouver website.
The Vancouver Heritage Foundation is proud to give a hand to building owners in the maintenance, repair, restoration and rehabilitation of their heritage buildings.
