House Call grants are to a maximum of $500, up to 50% of the cost of

a consultation and Conservation Plan. Grant recipients must hire a Heritage Consultant from a list provided. A Conservation Plan is a document that outlines the current state of a structure, and the long-term plan for its repair, maintenance and long term conservation as a heritage structure. The Canadian Parks Board's Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada is the Canadian heritage sector standard for guiding conervation techniques and practices for conserving a building.

Please call the VHF office if you wish to apply for House Call, and we will provide you with a sample Conservation Plan. Your Heritage Consultant will help guide you through the process.

If you apply for House Call, your house or building should be on or in the process of going on the Heritage Register. This grant is often applied for at the same time as the Get On The Register grant.

Application deadline is February 1st each calendar year.
