The Vancouver Heritage Foundation is pleased to
present a fine art model of Vancouver's 1936, Art
Moderne City Hall. The model is the unique work
of renowned, British architectural artist, Mr. Timothy
Richards. The commission was made possible through
a generous donation to the Foundation by Mr. & Mrs.
Jake & Judy Kerr. It was presented as gift to Queen
Elizabeth on the occasion of her visit to Vancouver
in 2002 and as a gift to Mayor Philip Owen on leaving
public office.
A version of the model is available for sale in
whole and split bookends through the VHF gift shop
for a price of $375 CDN, plus GST.
Mr. Richards has been creating masterpieces for
the past 13 years in his studio near Bath, England.
The fine plaster models are formed of only traditional
materials: gypsum plaster, etched brass, lead, copper
and glass.
Mr. Richards models are licensed to the Victoria
& Albert Museum, in London, commissions have been
carried out for Buckingham Palace, Christies Auction
House and the Royal Ontario Museum among many others.
