Vancouver Heritage Foundation: created as a private, charitable organization in 1992 by the Mayor and Council of the City of Vancouver, who remain its honorary patrons until today. Under the direction of a private citizen Board of Directors, the Foundation assists with the conservation of Vancouver's built heritage, in recognition of its public benefit.

SALVAGE NEWS

The next Salvage Sale will be on Saturday May 12, 2012.

We have two drop-off days for donations: Saturday February 18th and Friday March 9th. Please call if you would like to make a donation: 604 264-9642.

Our lease was extended! Thank you to Cressey, the new owners who are allowing us to stay on at the locker into the Summer of 2012.

Friday August 5th, 2011's clearance sale was a great success - much of what was left from the May 14th sale was sold at great prices and was saved from the landfill. The new owners of the Elmbridge Way property allowed us to remain in the space for the short term. The building however is slated for construction so we will ultimately have to find a new space in the near future.

Thank you to everyone who has donated salvage treasures from basements and garages, and thanks also to the creative folks finding new uses for old building materials. Salvage gets a new life and the VHF generates needed funding to continue programming to encourage heritage preservation!

Reuse, Recycle, Reclaim, Regift!

The VHF held a one day warehouse salvage sale on Saturday May 14th, 2011 in a warehouse in Richmond. Close to 1000 people attended the sale and over $10,000 were raised that day for the VHF!

At the sale, people were able to buy bargain-priced doors, sinks, lumber, hardware, furniture, lights, flooring, moulding, knick knacks and many house parts for their restoration or art project!

Salvaged items for sale were all from local homes and buildings donated by the owners. Photos of some of the items can be viewed below.
