Launched in 2011 as part of Vancouver’s 125th anniversary celebrations, Places That Matter commemorates and raises awareness about the people, places and events that shape our city. We continue to tell the lesser known histories of Vancouver’s unique communities, parks, buildings and neighbourhoods through community stories and research. Discover the layers of history at each site with archival images, current photos and online resources. Submit a personal story or photograph of a site and see the project grow!

We’re working on an educational heritage study guide for 2019. If you’re an educator, student or interested in learning more, please contact jessica@vancouverheritagefoundation.org
