June is National Indigenous Peoples Month and June 21 National Indigenous Peoples Day. We encourage you to connect with many celebrations taking place around the city!

Since the 1970s, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) community has been working towards language revitalization through documentation, research and the development of teaching and learning resources. Thank you to Elder Larry Grant, Vanessa Campbell and the Musqueam Language and Culture Department for hosting a special talk on April 16th. Thank you to Alec Dan who led a walking tour of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm .

For more ways to learn about xʷməθkʷəy̓əm history, culture and language, see the 5 PTM plaque sites chosen by the community (see the PTM map for locations and names). Stay tuned for more!
