Fall Heritage Auction

Bid on unique heritage-themed items and experiences

October 15, 3pm – October 29, 8pm

We are excited to share our first online auction with you! This fall would have been our 7th annual fall fundraiser, City Drinks, which hosted over 150 people last year to raise essential funds to support our educational programs, projects and grants. As we are unable to safely gather in person this year, we are taking a key part of this annual event virtual, through a fun and unique online auction.

For two weeks in October participants will be able to place bids on a selection of art pieces, experiences, antiques and other special items donated by local businesses, organizations and individuals. Some items are rare and one-of-a-kind, and many make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season. Payment can be made safely and securely through the trusted website and arrangements made for pickup, and in some cases delivery, of purchased items.

How does it work?

The auction will be hosted on a well-known online bidding site, 32Auctions. Participants in the auction do not need to create an account in order to view items, but one is needed if you wish to bid. All proceeds from online payments go directly to support Vancouver Heritage Foundation and our educational programming and grants. The auction is open for bidding at 3pm on October 15th and will close for bidding at 8pm on October 29th. If you make a bid on an item you will receive a reminder 24 hours before the auction is closed.

There is no limit on bids and they can be made any time of the day in the 2 week period. Once you make a bid on an item you will be sent a confirmation. You will also be notified if you have been outbid.

As soon as the auction has ended, if you are a successful bidder on items a notification email will be sent to you which contains a link to your invoice page. Invoices display the items won, the winning bid amounts, the total amount due, and a payment button. When you click the payment button you will have the option to pay by VISA, MasterCard or American Express. If you would like to pay by cheque please let us know.

At checkout, you will also be given an option for pick up or delivery. Most items can be picked up from the VHF office. Smaller items can be mailed without a fee. Many larger items can be delivered within Vancouver for a fee. Each item will state the options. We will contact each successful bidder to confirm your pick up and delivery options.

What kind of items will be available?

Our generous donors have supplied an interesting and diverse array of items to choose from including, but not limited to:

  • The un-released box set of "West Coast Modern House: Complete Book Series" (it is scheduled for public release later this year or early in 2021)
  • Artwork including a special print by Balthazar Korab
  • Heritage experiences such as private tours of Vancouver City Hall or the Vancouver Block clock tower
  • Antiques and collectables
  • Gift certificates to local shops, activities and restaurants
